Why TRIPpyLENS?

Who doesn’t like travelling, right? What differs is the way we all choose to travel. Some prefer impromptu trips and just venture out to a new place. While others research and plan their trips in advance.

If you fall in the second category (same pinch!), then you have found a friend in me! I love surprises but not when it comes to travelling. Once I pick my next destination, I need to know exactly what I will be doing there and when – I need to have a detailed itinerary planned beforehand. Imagine returning from your recent trip to a new country 12,000 Kms (& 24 hours away!) only to realize that you missed out on seeing something interesting – all because you didn’t have a well-researched itinerary in place. My worst nightmare ever! What are the odds that you will visit the same magical faraway land again? Almost never!

Let me tell you – Planning a trip is not an easy feat. I have spent months poring over numerous travel articles, blogs, calculating expenses and whatnot. Why you ask?

Road trip in New Zealand – Took me almost a month to plan it!
  1. Plethora of options out there to choose from – Which hotel? Which route to take? Which activity to do? Perfect season to visit the place? List is endless.
  2. Often you will need to book certain activities in advance (especially in peak tourist season) like a cruise or a ticket to some tourist park (I have had some bad experiences of being turned away from an ‘All sold out’ tickets counter)
  3. You can really optimize your time and money by planning well in advance. A $300 hotel room might cost $400 if you delay your bookings. Going from point A to B might be more time-consuming and less scenic as compared to going from B to A (Especially if doing a cross-country road trip)
  4. Often you have limited time to roam around in a new town – If you are an adrenaline junkie, you would want to do something adventurous and skip that ‘must-visit-photo-stop’. Prioritizing is essential to make the most of your time in a new place
  5. Lastly, chalking out a detailed itinerary is indeed a fun activity! You learn so much more about a place when you read about it. It’s almost like reading a novel – You get transported to a faraway place!

In my blog, I have tried making this entire planning phase smoother for you all by jotting down my personal experiences of travelling to a new place. Lots of photographs too to pique your interest!

Come see this magical world through TRIPpyLENS!

Happy travelling!!
